Overtime is where underdogs and unders go to die.
Triple overtime is where absolutely anything can happen.
Sports bettors were on a roller coaster for the matchup between Middle Tennessee and UAB, and it was a thrilling ride until the very end.
UAB closed between a 6.5 and 7.5-point favorite in the game. If you were a Middle Tennessee bettor, you had nothing to worry about throughout most of the game and even through two overtimes.
But if you've ever had the underdog in overtime, you know it's never over until it's over.
The total closed at 137.5 on FanDuel. The total after the first overtime was 137. Sometimes the under can survive one overtime, but rarely does it survive a second one.
UAB caught fire in triple overtime and made the spread interesting. The Blazers extended their lead all the way to 11 points with 14.8 seconds left on the clock. MTSU called timeout and the celebrations started for UAB.

You can hear those whistles at the end of the video. And those whistles, for UAB bettors, are nightmare fuel: the refs called a double technical on the Blazers.
MTSU made all four of the free throws to cut it to seven and then missed a three-point shot, got the rebound and made a layup to cut it to 5 with 5 seconds left.
The next series of events only matters to those that had 6.5 (or lower) on either side which is what the spread opened at and what it closed at on PointsBet and BetMGM.
MTSU fouls and UAB proceeds to make both free throws to get the lead back to 7.
Only the true college basketball bettors could expect what happened next: MTSU's Justin Bufford makes a three-pointer at the buzzer to cut the deficit from 7 to 4.
