Mack came back.

Jim McIngvale, America's most famous big-game bettor, publicly at least, netted $11.2 million with the Kansas Jayhawks historic comeback on Monday night.

It's a huge win for the man they call "Mattress Mack" who was going through a cold streak.

McIngvale told Action Network he was still at one of his stores cleaning up in the first half, watching the Jayhawks go down by 15, 40-25.

"I thought I lost more money," Mack said.

He then returned home for the second half, where he says his wife greeted him when he walked in.

"'I heard you bet another $3.3 million,'" Mack said she said. When he asked how she found out, she said, "Everyone is showing me this tweet from Darren Rovell."

Mack placed the bet in Louisiana on Monday and said as soon as he did it, he regretted it.

"It was the stupidest bet in betting history," Mack said. With $5.56 million down at Caesars and Barstool, he bet another $3.3 million on the Kansas moneyline.

With North Carolina losing, Mack lost $1 million on his bet that the winner would come from the East region. He said he made that bet because he had strong faith in the Texas teams, Baylor and Texas, both of which got knocked out early.

Even with the $11.2 million net, Mack is down $6.1 million this year, at least based on tallying his big public bets.

On Jan. 10, McIngvale lost $6.1 million on his Alabama moneyline bet in the national title game. The Crimson Tide lost to Georgia, 33-18.

Five days later, the New England Patriots lost. He had $2 million on them to win the Super Bowl. The following week, he made $300,000 when the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game. Mack had the Bengals to cover as 3.5 point underdogs and when they won by three he made $1 million on his $1.1 million bet. He lost $700,000 because he had a Titans Super Bowl future.

He then went with the Bengals to win the Super Bowl, to the tune of $9.5 million, and they lost 23-20 to the Los Angeles Rams.
