Actionable college football predictions are once again top of mind as the Week 0 slate officially gets underway on Saturday.
Because there are just two games between FBS programs — Florida State vs. Georgia Tech and SMU vs. Nevada — I decided to pull back the curtain for Action PRO to show one its key features: college football spread and over/under projections.
Action PRO's college football projections enable the user to quickly scan an entire slate of games to easily identify the top values and therefore the best available bets.
There are a slew of college football games from Thursday through Monday of next week, which will really enable subscribers to take advantage of this feature, so don't hesitate to sign up for an annual Action PRO subscription at a discount of 66% off the monthly rate.
Here's what Action PRO's Projections have in store for Week 0.
College Football Predictions
*Odds and projections as of Friday night
Florida State vs. Georgia Tech Projections
12 p.m. ET | ESPN
- Current spread: Florida State -10.5
- Spread projection: Florida State -14.5
While not massive, Florida State -10.5 represents a 2.6% edge when compared to our projection of -14.5.
- Current over/under: 55.5
- Over/under projection: 53.5
The Florida State vs. Georgia Tech under is also the biggest total edge of Saturday's two FBS games thus far at 2.2%.
SMU vs. Nevada Projections
8 p.m. ET | CBS Sports Network
- Current spread: SMU -24.5
- Spread projection: SMU -26.5
While there is a two-point difference between our projection and the current spread, the edge is so small that our Action PRO Projections have no highlighted edge.
- Current over/under: 56.5
- Over/under projection: 54.1
The SMU vs. Nevada under is showing an edge — albeit just a 1% edge.
For the record, we recommend and edge of at least 3.5% before place a wager solely based on Action PRO's Projections, and as I mentioned above, there will be plenty of those across next week's loaded Week 1 slate.
However, the edges above can still have value for college football bettors.
For example, if have a lean on Georgia Tech +14.5, maybe our 2.6% edge on Florida State is a significant enough piece of data to hold off on a wager you don't particularly love anyway.
