Here's a breakdown of five notable wide receivers featured in Sean Koerner, Chris Raybon and Matthew Freedman's Week 13 fantasy football rankings.
No. 1 WRs
DeAndre Hopkins and Michael Thomas share the top spot among receivers in PPR formats this week, sporting an average rank of 2.7 among our rankers.
DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans
Hopkins was averaging 11.4 targets per game over the first five weeks, but is averaging just 7.5 since. However, those 7.5 targets per game still represent 32% of the Texans' overall target share.
He's presently implied for the second-highest median projection in our FantasyLabs Player Models.
Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints
Drew Brees' pass attempts have been fairly low over the past six weeks, but Thomas still owns 28.5% of the Saints' target share.
Thomas will be tested this week when he sees a healthy amount of Byron Jones, Pro Football Focus' No. 1 corner, in Thursday night's matchup agains the Cowboys. But Thomas still leads all receivers in median and ceiling projections.
Most Favorable Matchups
Julian Edelman, New England Patriots
Since returning in Week 5, Edelman's 23.5% target share trails only James White. This week Edelman will draw a favorable matchup in the slot against Mackensie Alexander, who grades as PFF's No. 68 cornerback in coverage.
Edelman is a solid WR2, with an average rank of 20 among our rankers in PPR.
D.J. Moore, Carolina Panthers
Devin Funchess (back) still isn't practicing, which could benefit Moore for the second week in a row. Moore put up an 8-91 line on nine targets in Funchess' absence last week.
Now Moore has the added benefit of taking on a weak Bucs defense that ranks dead last in Football Outsiders' pass DVOA.
Matchup Downgrades
Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals
There are a few elements working against Boyd in Week 13.
For starters, Andy Dalton (thumb) is on injured reserve. Boyd will also be matched up with Chris Harris Jr., PFF's No. 5 cornerback. Overall, quarterbacks have a passer rating of just 63.6 when targeting Harris this season (per PFF).
