There were two perfect teams in the NFL at the start of Week 6. Now there are none.
The Philadelphia Eagles were the last undefeated team standing after the San Fransisco 49ers lost in stunning fashion against the Cleveland Browns. Like the Niners, the Eagles were road favorites facing a team with a back up quarterback. And just like the Niners, the Eagles' offense struggled to make plays against a swarming Jets defense.
That defense is largely responsible for getting the Jets the 20-14 win. The Eagles led 14-3 at halftime, but didn't score the rest of the way.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts threw three interceptions on the day and his third pick was the most costly one of the trio. On 3rd-and-9 at their 46 yard line, Hurts was intercepted by Tony Adams, who returned the ball to Philly's eight yard line setting up the go-ahead score.
Despite the fact that the Eagles struggled to score for the entire second half, they still had an 88% chance to win before Hurts' third interception, according to Action Network's cover probability tracker.
The loss was equally devastating for the public, with 72% of spread bets and 80% of the money bet on the spread landing on the Eagles to cover. The 72% of spread bets was the tied for the highest number of all the Week 6 games. The other game was 49ers vs. Browns.
