Backing NFC North teams has been a bettor’s paradise in 2024, as they’ve covered at an incredible clip.

However, their record against the spread is more impressive than you might even think.

The NFC North is 18-4 ATS (82%), which is the best winning percentage through six weeks in the Wild Card era (1990). The previous mark, according to Director of Research Evan Abrams, was the AFC South in 2002, when the teams went a combined 17-5-1.

Leading the way are the Minnesota Vikings, who are a perfect 5-0 ATS. They’ve been favored just twice this year despite being one of only two undefeated teams in the league.

Meanwhile, Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears are 5-1 ATS following their 35-16 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars as a 1.5-point dog across the pond.  The only game they failed to cover was in a 21-16 loss to the Colts in Week 3 as a 2.5-point dog.

The Detroit Lions are 4-1 after dismantling the Cowboys 47-9 on Sunday. They’ve been favored in all five of their games. Oddly enough, their lone ATS loss came against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they lost straight up despite laying their most points on the year (7.5).

Finally, the Green Bay Packers are 4-2 ATS. However, they’re just 2-2 with Jordan Love under center as they covered both games Malik Willis started.

The NFC North’s dominance against the spread is notable, but it’s also worth pointing out that there haven’t been a ton of intradivision games. That changes this week when the Lions visit the Vikings. Minnesota was a 1.5-point favorite as of Sunday night. Meanwhile, Green Bay is a 2.5-point favorite at home against the Houston Texans while the Bears are on a bye.
