During his college career, Desmond Ridder was one of the more successful quarterbacks in this year's draft class.
He won 44 games as a four-year starter for the Cincinnati Bearcats while setting multiple records and taking his team to the College Football Playoff in 2021.
He was rarely looked at as a top quarterback, but his stock has quickly been rising during the draft process. It's now likely he could be one of the first three quarterbacks off the board come draft night.
Ridder is +800 to be the first QB selected on BetMGM. He has the third-highest odds behind Malik Willis and Kenny Pickett.
WynnBet has him at +600 to be the first QB off the board.
In a recent combined mock draft between ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay where they alternated picks, Kiper selected Ridder as the last pick in the first round to the Detroit Lions.
McShay also had Ridder going No. 32 in his most recent mock draft on April 5.
He did not show up in the recent first-round mock drafts from Daniel Jeremiah and Peter King.
Most books currently have the over/under of quarterbacks at 3 and 3.5 for the first round, and it's likely Ridder will be the decider.
PointsBet has Ridder's over/under set at 30.5 with -115 on both sides.
Circa Sports, which posted over/under lines for 32 different players, also posted Ridder's over/under at 30.5 with -125 to the over and -105 to the under.
It is likely Ridder is going to fall somewhere in the late first round or early second round. If a team takes him in the first round, they get an extra protected year on his contract, which could be vital to his development.
