Bettors have cleaned up backing Patrick Mahomes over the years. However, they suffered a bad beat for the ages Sunday night that’ll have them licking their wounds for quite a while.

The Falcons trailed by five and faced a fourth-and-inches from Kansas City’s 13-yard line with less than a minute to go. As they’ve done so often under defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, the Chiefs defense came up clutch as Nick Bolton tracked down Bijan Robinson in the backfield.

Mahomes took over with 51 seconds left on the clock and Atlanta having just two timeouts. All he had to do was take three kneel downs and the game was over.

Bettors have had quarterback rushing props go from winning tickets to losers in such scenarios in the past. However, that surely couldn’t happen here. After all, Mahomes’ 30 rushing yards on the day were way more than the set line of 19.5.

Unfortunately, disaster struck.

Mahomes danced around in the backfield on all three snaps to ensure enough time would run out. His first kneel down went for a loss of five yards while the next two went for four, each. Add it all up and the three kneel downs combined for -13 yards, bringing his total rushing yards on the day down to 17 for a gross bad beat.
