Expectations for the Jets have been ridiculously high since acquiring Davante Adams.
They were favorites in both Arizona and Pittsburgh, chalk at home to the Texans, favorites by a touchdown on the road to a divisional opponent and more.
Now, New York is catching a point at home in Week 13.
I’m not calling this Sunday matchup against the Seahawks the turning point to contention for the Jets, but it's a situation where expectations are moderately tapered.
The Jets enter this game with extended rest. It’s typically baked in but worth noting that they’re hosting a West Coast team (full of young starters) playing in the early window on the East Coast.
The Jets have been one of the luckiest teams in football this season, about 15 slots worse than the Seahawks, per our Dr. Nick Giffen.
These teams are like a mirror image of one another: Old quarterbacks with capped ceilings; dynamic running backs; WR1s who demand the ball; stud pass-catchers from The Ohio State; defenses consistently lauded for their youth and ranginess, which is used to then commit penalties (the Jets are second in DPIs committed; the Seahawks are illegal-contact bandits).
