It’s been a tough year for the Titans as they’ve gotten off to an 0-3 start.
Will Levis has struggled mightily, but was hoping to reverse his fortunes as Tennessee faced a short-handed Dolphins team on Monday Night Football.
Unfortunately, Levis suffered a shoulder injury in the first-quarter while diving for a first down. He raced toward the sideline on third-down and stretched the ball out as he went out of bounds. However, he jammed his shoulder hard on the ground and immediately signaled that something wasn’t right.
Levis threw a few passes on the sideline before heading into to the blue medical tent. The second-year QB eventually emerged and stood on the sideline with his helmet on but was also grimacing in pain. The team announced he was questionable to return as Mason Rudolph came into the game.
Levis was 3-for-4 for 25 yards and an interception before departing. He also ran the ball twice for five yards. Levis entered the game 64-for-94 for 579 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions.
Meanwhile, Rudolph led the Titans on two straight field goal drives to give Tennessee a 6-0 lead, so it’s not clear whether he’s under center because Levis is injured or for performance reasons.
