Liverpool's dominant wire-to-wire, 4-0 win over Manchester United sent the Reds to the top of the Premier League on Tuesday.

Now, it's Manchester City's turn to hold serve. Pep Guardiola's side has a game in hand and need a win against Brighton on Wednesday to keep pace with Liverpool, which is now two points ahead of City.

It's a neck-and-neck race that will get dicey down the stretch. The two teams only play on the same day and at the same time one more time this season, and that's on the final day. That means this type of day-to-day race will be commonplace for the better part of the next month. One pulls ahead, then the other keeps pace.

Liverpool knocked Manchester City out of the FA Cup last weekend with a 3-2 win at Wembley Stadium, and there's even a chance they'll meet for a fourth time this season in the UEFA Champions League Final. The semifinals begin next Tuesday, with Liverpool facing Villarreal, which has shockingly eliminated Juventus and Bayern Munich in the knockout stages.

Meanwhile, City will face off against Real Madrid in a matchup of European titans.

Liverpool's win over Manchester United didn't drastically change its odds to win the Premier League, but it did help its case.

The Reds' title odds have been about +200 ($100 bet wins $200) across the board before the dismantling victory. Now, they're +160 at DraftKings.

In a corresponding move, City's pregame odds of roughly -275 across sportsbooks have been shortened to -200 ($200 bet wins $100).

Chelsea have a mathematical chance to win the title still at 500-1, but it would take a legitimate miracle down the stretch. No other team can usurp Liverpool and City with just six or seven games remaining on the Premier League calendar.
